From the U.S. the team headed for Portugal, Morocco and then crossed Western and Eastern Europe, Ukraine and arrived in Moscow. Yamada says people were kind and helped them as possible. Meanwhile in Russia and Kazakhstan the team has run into the problem of collecting used vegetable oil wasted. When they approached restaurants and cafeterias it turned out that vegetable oil was consumed almost with no waste, The team arrived in Astana one week later. "We were much concerned that we will not be able to reach Astana, but 350 km away from the capital city in Zhezkazgan we were provided with a necessary volume of used vegetable oil at a kiosk with fried patties," said Yamada. "Processing of 40 liters of used vegetable oil takes 24 hours. One liter of oil is enough to cover 7-10 km. The team now steers for Omsk, Irkutsk, Khabarovsk and completes its journey in Vladivostok.
To get to Vladivostok, the team has to find 500 liters of used vegetable oil, it has already collected 250 liters of oil," reads the news release.
