Bultera To Put 7.0 Mln Euro in Four Plants in Bulgaria

Bulgarian-Russian joint venture Bultera will invest 7.0 mln euro ($9.6 mln) in four production units near Simitli, southwestern Bulgaria, company official said on August 29, 2007.

Bultera will build polystyrene, simprolit, biodiesel and rapeseed oil plants on a 20 hectare plot it bought in 2006 for 1.0 mln Bulgarian levs ($697,000/510,000 euro).

Bultera will spend 1.25 mln euro ($1.7 mln) on the polystyrene plant, which is due to start operations by end-November 2007.

The simprolit plant will be ready by January 2008. Bultera will use the plant output for a few other projects including a 130,000 sq m spa complex in the southwestern town Sandanski and an 80,000 sq m complex in the coastal town Shkorpilovtsi.

Bultera's biodiesel plant is on the drawing board. It is to go online in 2008. The plant will process raw material imported from Russia.

Bultera is a 50/50 joint venture between Bulgarian businessman Kiril Anzov and Russian investor Sergey Starkov. It holds patent rights on simprolit insulation bricks and roof tiles.
