Grodno Azot doubles biofuels capacity

Belarusian chemical company OAO Grodno Azot has commissioned its second 5000 tonnes/y biofuels plant, which makes biofuels from rapeseed oil and methanol. The total capacity of the two plants is 10,000 tonnes/y. The company aims to produce about 100,000 tonnes of biodiesel blends in 2008. It intends erecting a 60,000 tonnes/y methyl ether plant. The equipment procurement auction has already been held.
