Kharkiv Plant Growing Institute can make motor oil of sunflowerUkrainian National News Agency KYIV, May 5 /UKRINFORM/. The Yuriev plant growing institute (Kharkiv, East Ukraine) of the Ukrainian Academy of Agrarian Sciences, together with Kharkiv's Vasylenko National Technical University, started development of the technology for the production of automobile oil. The technology is based on a special sunflower sort with 12% of stearin, which was raised at the institute, director general Viktor Kyrychenko says. The project is financed with earnings from the institute's business activity. «Under preliminary findings, the oil is good for KamAZ trucks,» Kyrychenko says.
In his words, the institute was called the coordinator and supervisor of the state program for the development of the production of bio-material and biofuel in Ukraine.
