LANDKOM Group to Expand Rape-Sown AreaNovecon Ukraine's LANDKOM, a major rape grower in Lvov Region, said it had raised $110.85 million by floating 54% of its shares on the London Alternative Market. The company has a market capitalization of $201.985 million in the initial offering's wake. The company will direct the assets towards expanding its rented land to 350,000 hectares, buying soil cultivation equipment and boosting its warehouse capacity to 320,000 tonnes. Analysts touted the placement as successful. Investors count on growth in biofuel consumption in the European Union. The LANDKOM group was established in October 2005. The company has offices in Lvov and London, and engages in growing wheat and rape in Western Ukraine for exports to Europe. The company has paid for the rent of its first 500 hectares of land in Lvov Region from its own resources. Last April, the company sold its shares to institutional investors. The proceeds of $13.8 million went to expanding the area under crops.
