Mogilevkhimvolokno to start commercial production of biodieselRCCnews Mogilevkhimvolokno has made a pilot batch of fatty acid methyl ester (biodiesel) from rapeseed oil. The company plans to reach design capacity of 30,000 tonnes/y fatty acid methyl ester in 2H 2009, from which it can obtain around 600,000 tonnes of biofuels. Mogilevkhimvolokno makes polyester yarns and fibres. It is the only producer of DMT and PET in the CIS. Exports reached $210 M in Jan-Nov 2008, a rise of 11.6% on a year earlier. RCCnews
