CIA: AUTOMOTIVE - Fuel and petrol station

According to a current study made by the Ministry of Industry and trade (MPO), a total of 72,500 tons of biodiesel and 44,700 tons of bio-ethanol were consumed in the Czech Republic January through October. Domestic production amounted to 63,700 tons of biodiesel and 43,400 tons of bio-ethanol. The production of bio-ethanol is continually growing, in October it amounted to the record-breaking 9,330 tons.Imports amounted to 38,300 tons of biodiesel, that came mainly from Germany (14,500 tons) and Slovakia (15,300 tons).

Mogilevkhimvolokno to start commercial production of biodiesel

Mogilevkhimvolokno has made a pilot batch of fatty acid methyl ester (biodiesel) from rapeseed oil. The company plans to reach design capacity of 30,000 tonnes/y fatty acid methyl ester in 2H 2009, from which it can obtain around 600,000 tonnes of biofuels. Mogilevkhimvolokno makes polyester yarns and fibres. It is the only producer of DMT and PET in the CIS. Exports reached $210 M in Jan-Nov 2008, a rise of 11.6% on a year earlier.

Ukraine possesses world's second export potential of rape - expert

An export potential of the Ukrainian rape makes up 2.45 million tons in 2008/09 marketing year, which makes Ukraine the second main supplier of this oil culture in the world after Canada. This estimate was made by analyst Vadym Lytvynenko at the International Conference "Fat-and-Oil Industry-2008" in Odesa (South Ukraine).

Belarusian chemical company OAO Grodno Azot has commissioned its second 5000 tonnes/y biofuels plant, which makes biofuels from rapeseed oil and methanol.

Biodiesel Adventure Team from Japan runs short of fuel in Kazakhstan

Biodiesel Adventure Team from Japan that is traveling around the world in a biodiesel-fueled vehicle has run short of fuel in Russia and Kazakhstan.Team members Shusei Yamada and Yusuke Akasi met with students of Kazakhstan Humanitarian and Law University in Astana, said the Japanese Embassy in Kazakhstan.

Russian Federation Oilseeds and Products October Monthly Update

Post forecasts production of major oilseeds at 8.1 million metric tons (MMT), including 6.7 MMT of sunflowerseeds, 680,000 metric tons (MT) of soybeans, and 720,000 MT of rapeseeds. Russia's imports of these three oilseeds will be 450,000 MT, including 440,000 MT of soybeans. Exports will be 240,000 MT, including 100,000 MT of sunflowerseeds and 110,000 MT of rapeseeds. Oilseeds crush will increase from last year by 0.9 MMT to 7.7 MT to produce 2.9 MMT of vegetable oil and 3.4 MMT of oilseed meal. Sunflowerseed oil prices are decreasing, pushing down demand and prices of sunflowerseeds.

Landkom Intl Harvests 22,100 Tonnes Of Oil Seed Rape

Landkom International, a Ukrainian producer of high-value oil seed rape (OSR) and wheat, has harvested over 22,100 tonnes of OSR from 6,200 hectares. 18,532 tonnes of this harvest was high quality OSR from 5,003 hectares. This represents an average yield of 3.704 tonnes per hectare. On Jun. 19, Landkom agreed an off-take, pre-sale, of its first 9,000 tonnes of its OSR crop at a net price of $540 per tonne to one of the world's largest commodities suppliers.

Co to launch 1st stage of 765 mln rbl Omsk oilseed plant in Nov

Russian company Prodeks-Omsk plans to launch in November the first stage of a 765 million ruble oilseed processing plant in the Tavrichesky district of the Omsk Region, the regional government's press office said Wednesday.The plant will process sunflower and rape, and produce vegetable oils and biodiesel fuel from these oils. At the first stage, the plant will produce unrefined vegetable oil and will have an annual production capacity of over 53,000 tonnes.

Belarus to increase areas under rapeseed

The total area sown to rapeseed will be increased to 400,000 hectares this year, Yadviha Plyuk, a laboratory head at the agriculture research center of the National Academy of Sciences, told reporters in Minsk on Friday. According to her, a total of one million tons of rapeseed are expected to be produced in the country annually in the future, which would be mostly used for human consumption. This year Belarus has a record high rapeseed output of about 600,000 tons.
