Ukraine: S&D of the oilseed and vegoil market: Market trends and price forecastUkrAgroConsult Ukraine's rapeseed market is now in low activity. Reduction of the 2009/10 crop forecasts for both Ukraine and the world immediately influenced the prices. Rapeseed quotes are rising on major world exchanges. So, rapeseed prices have grown by $15/MT or EURO5/MT (on the French exchange Matif for the week - up to nearly $350/MT (with August delivery). The new season's rapeseed pricing will depend chiefly on the prospects for the global biofuel branch. Imposing import duties on US biofuel by the EU will promote production within the Union. In turn, this will prop up demand for Ukrainian rapeseed.
The European Commission recently permitted import of GM-rapeseed from Canada. In our opinion, Canadian rapeseed will toughly compete with our rapeseed.
