Home / Bioethanol / News Agrarian policy: The Cabinet of Ministers approved the Biofuel production development program(c) 2007 UkrAgroConsult. All Rights Reserved. In late December of 2006, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the concept of the State program for diesel biofuel production development until 2010. The Program’s elaboration was necessitated by the need to create new fuel sources, by stabilization of their prices, strengthening demand for rapeseed, and shrinking imports of energy carriers. Please remember that according to the already existing State program for rapeseed growing development in Ukraine, this crop’s areas be at 3Ml ha in 2010 with its harvest coming to 6MMT. In 3-4 years, the biofuel share in the total diesel fuel volume used in the country must be 33%. For this purpose it is planned to construct three biodiesel plants by 2008 and yet 20 plants by 2010 with their overall capacity reaching at least 623KMT a year. According to the State program for biodiesel development, it is stipulated to expand planted areas under rapeseed (used for making biofuel) to 10% of Ukraine’s total seeded area by 2010
