MINSK, October 21 (Prime-Tass) -- Ireland's Greenfield Project Management Limited fails to meet its obligations under the joint project with Belarus to make ethanol for biofuel production, the chairman of Belbiopharm concern, Mikhail Cherepok, told the Council of Ministers on Tuesday.

Cherepok reminded that Greenfield was taking part in the project to build ethanol-making facilities in Mozyr in 2007-2010 with 554.4 billion Belarusian rubles (Br) in investment, and in Bobruisk, requiring 104.4 billion rubles in financing.

"Greenfield defaulted on earlier obligations, but during the latest meeting in October the company suggested a new project, this time to make biodiesel, biogas, hydrogen and other products," Cherepok said.

The National Academy of Sciences has reviewed the project and recommended preparing a business plan.

The original plan of Greenfield Project Management Limited was to launch 80% of facilities in 2009 and 100% in 2010, and export all ethanol to Europe as a fuel additive. End (Br2,114 - U.S. $1)
