Bioethanol complex to be built in Russia city

OMSK, February 26 (Itar-Tass) — The infrastructure of Russia's first biotechnological complex for production of an ecologically clean doping agent for engine fuels has been begun an in the city of Omsk.

The enterprise is to turn out 150,000 tons of bioethanol a year.

The project involves «large means» from federal and regional budgets, a spokesperson at the Omsk region's ministry of the industrial policy, transport and communications told ITAR-TASS on Tuesday.

The state will issue 115 million roubles this year and 70 million roubles in 2009. Investment will total over 7 billion roubles. Over 1,200 jobs will be created at the new production.

The director-general of Titan Group, Mikhail Sutyaginsky, said electricity, water and gas supply systems would be built first. The high-technology agricultural complex for deep grain reprocessing will be established on the principle of a vertically integrated company.Apart from bioethanol ad biodiesel, it will produce biological fertilizer, carbon dioxide and dry feed yeast. The enterprise will also have 100,000 head of swine.

Experts sate that production will be waste-free and ecologically clean. Russian, Austrian, German, British and South Korean-made equipment will be used in the technological process. The biological complex proved one of the best investment projects of Russia at economic forums in Sochi and Krasnoyarsk.
