Home / Bioethanol / News Biofuel from non-food materials Russian Kirov biochemical plant started producing biological fuel from inedible materials, thus making another step towards solving environmental problems of large cities. Said plant is the only industrial enterprise of the world, producing ethanol fuel (dehydrated ethyl alcohol) from non-food materials. Estimated annual production volume reaches 4 mln decalitres of ecologically friendly fuel. The plant tested its equipment on the trial portion of biological fuel and now is ready for commercial production of this fuel additive, russia-ic.com reports.
