Biotechnologies Corporation rehabiliates Kanskiy Biochemical Plant

On October 29, 2008 the government of the Krasnoyarsk region and Biotechnologies Corporation (Moscow) signed a cooperation agreement in Krasnoyarsk, providing for the creation of industrial sites for the production of biofuel, products for agriculture and petrochemical sectors in the region. The company plans that 3 modern enterprises will be set up in the region on the basis of bankrupt or shutdown plants. The first project will be the change of Kanskiy Biochemical Plant (KBZ) line of business, it will produce 40,000 tonnes of butanol and 10,000 tonnes of feed yeast per year and also hydrogen and carbonic acid. Investments will amount to RUR2.8bln. According to an estimate of Biotechnologies Corporation General Director Peter Kanygin, the plant will be commissioned in 3-4 months.
Another two plans, in which similar volumes of funds will be invested, will be set up on the basis of 100% state-owned company PO Krasnoyarskiy Chemical Plant Yenisey and in the north of the region, in the Boguchansky district. Besides the corporation, the project will be financed by private investors and a loan will be extended by Vnesheconombank, Kommersant - Sibir said.
