Emission quota sale money to start coming in April - Prime Minister

KYIV, February 12 /UKRINFORM/. Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko hopes that in April Ukraine will get its first receipts from the sale of the carbon dioxide emission quotas within the framework of the agreements signed in keeping with the Kyoto Protocol procedures.

The head of government also initiated imposition of fines on the enterprises having biological wastes and not processing them into biofuel.

"The fines must be introduced in about three years rather than immediately, so that each enterprise would know, if it fails to organize the disposal of its organic wastes during the said period, it will fall under serious fines in three years," Tymoshenko said.

She also issued instructions concerning a change of state standards and norms, according to which it is necessary to forbid the commissioning of new facilities with a failure to treat biological wastes for their further use.
