Home / Bioethanol / News First Plant Built in Lipetsk Special Economic ZoneRussian Financial Control Monitor MOSCOW. CSZ Lipetsk has commissioned the first plant in the special economic zone in the Lipetsk Region (central Russia), to produce light glass bottles for the food and medical sectors. A groundbreaking ceremony has also been held in the region for a new plant by the Bioethanol company, which will produce bioethanol fuel. This fuel is mainly produced by the sugar fermentation process, although it can also be manufactured by the chemical process of reacting ethylene with steam. The project of CSZ Lipetsk has been evaluated at RUR1.331bn ($52mn). It will create 216 jobs; the plant will market its output in Russia and outside it. Bioethanol intends to produce 49.5mn litres of bioethanol fuel annually, with a possibility of increasing the plant’s capacity to 99mn litres. The project is worth RUR2.819bn ($109mn).
