Home / Bioethanol / News Interfax Hungary Business DailyHungary Business Daily ENERGY: Ministry Foresees Revival in Hungarian Biofuel Industry - Earlier shelved development plans in the Hungarian biofuel industry could receive new momentum this year due to oversupply in raw materials, said state secretary to the Agriculture Ministry, Zoltan Gogos. For instance, the annual harvest of maize, used for producing bioethanol, is expected to total 8 mln tonnes, whereas the farming sector only needs 4 mln, Gogos said. There is also excess rape seed, thus half of the 660,000-tonne harvest is to be processed by Austrian companies, he added. [Vilaggazdasag]
