Joint Venture to Produce Bioethanol in KazakhstanSITA Slovenska Tlacova Agentura The joint-stock company TOO Korlea Invest – Energy Corporation, a major player on the electricity markets of Central, Eastern and Southeastern Europe, is planning to construct a bioethanol production plant in Kazakhstan. The plant is to have annual production capacity of 130,000 to 150,000 tons. “The company will also participate in the development of Kazakhstan’s energy market with participation on extraction and sale of crude oil, as well as other natural resources,” the company informed SITA on Thursday. The Slovak company Korlea Invest, a.s. Kosice concluded a contract with the Kazakh firm Saryarka Socio-Enterpreneurial Corporation JSC on the purchase of the state company National Petroleum Corporation NPC TRIED –KZ in April of this year. The company TOO Korlea Invest – Energy Corporation was established by the signing of this contract. The Slovak company Korlea Invest, a.s. holds a 66 percent stake in the joint venture, and Saryarka JSC the remaining 34 percent stake.
