Majilis approved a bill on state regulation of production and turnover of bio-fuels

/IRBIS, September 29, 2010/ - Majilis of the Republic of Kazakhstan at the plenary session endorsed the proposals of the conciliation commission to overcome the differences between the chambers of Parliament on the draft law "On state regulation of production and turnover of bio-fuels" and "On introducing amendments and addenda to some legislative acts Republic of Kazakhstan on state regulation of production and turnover of bio-fuels."

The bills are aimed at protecting the environment, the development of biofuel production and trafficking, food security of the state in the production of biofuels.

The main tasks of state regulation of biofuel production and trafficking identified: reduction of pollutant emissions into the atmosphere, increase production and exports of goods with high added value, support research and application of advanced scientific technologies in the production and turnover of bio-fuels, the introduction of rules that allow governments to determine limiting amounts of production capacity of biofuels and set quotas for edible raw materials used for further processing into biofuels.
