Domestic consumption increased by 83 % to almost 37,000 tons while biodiesel exports fell by 52 % to 53,600 tons. Exports were primarily destined for Germany (27,700 tons) and Slovakia (20,800).Domestic firms produced 26,500 tons of bioethanol last year. Considering the fact that bioalcohol addition to gasoline in the Czech Republic did not begin until January 2008, only 287 tons of this biocomponent were consumed on the domestic market last year.
