Biofuel plants planned in eastern Europe

Oct 4 (Reuters) - Russian and Kazakh investors have announced plans to build several new biofuel plants in the former Soviet Union after a pilot project was commissioned this month, but the implementation of these projects faces obstacles.

Czech comps sign contracts worth Kc6bn in Omsk

Representatives of Czech companies signed contracts worth some Kc6bn in Omsk, Russia, today, Bohuslav Strejc, the commercial councillor at the Czech Embassy in Moscow, has told CTK.
The biggest contract for the supply of equipment to produce bioethanol by Czech companies Alta and Chemoprag is worth some EUR150m (about Kc4.275bn), he said, adding this was one of the biggest Czech deals in Omsk.

Russian petrochemical company Titan is considering building a bioethanol plant in EU-hopefuls Bulgaria or Romania, or in both countries, a senior company official said on Wednesday.
