MOSCOW, Mar 5 (PRIME-TASS) -- The Russian government will not impose a state monopoly on ethanol, First Deputy Prime Minister Viktor Zubkov said Friday, as cited by ITAR-TASS.

He said the government did not have funds for buying ethanol producers and was unlikely to be an efficient owner.

Some Russian officials have repeatedly proposed introducing a state ethanol monopoly in recent years.
