The Omsk TITAN group will build a bioethanol plant in the village of Pavlovskaya in Krasnodar Territory.

The company rented 100 hectares of land there, and holds the right to eventually buy out the plot. The capacity is 150,000 tonnes of bioethanol yearly. Construction is to begin in 2008 and end the following year. The group will finance 20% of the cost, at R7.0 billion, on its own and the remaining 80% with borrowings. The group intends to recoup the investment in five years. The enterprise will be aimed at exports to EU countries and China. To operate at full capacity, the plant will need 600,000 tonnes of raw materials yearly. Corn will make up 70% of input and wheat 30%. The crops will be bought in Russia's south. Russia does not have its own biofuel production yet.
