Home / Bioethanol / News Ukrainian Bio Fuel Producers Are Promised Considerable BenefitsNOVECON: Russia/CIS Energy Digest Deputies of the Yulia Timoshenko Block faction (ruling «orange» coalition) have submitted a bill to Ukrainian parliament, offering tax benefits to the producers of biological types of fuel. The bill proposes to cancel the tax profit for the producers of biological types of fuel until 2018 (bioethanol, biodiesel, biogas and biohydrogen) and the tax on the import of raw materials and equipment until January 2013. It is proposed that biodiesel producers be exempt from the excise duty, while the excise duty on fuel mixes cut by E5 per each percent of biofuel content. The excise duty on gasoline used in fuel mixes is E30 per tonne. If the law is passed, the production cost of biofuel and bioethanol will be 30-40% below that of gasoline on average. The retail cost of gasoline mixes with the bioethanol mass under 10% will be 10-15% cheaper than gasoline's, the cost of mixes with biofuel additives will be 10-15% below gasoline's. The document also benefits future exporters of biological types of fuel to EU countries, experts indicate.
